The Youth Week has kicked off in Belarus, Belarusian Deputy Education Minister Aleksandr Kadlubay said during a roundtable at BelTA’s press center.
"Every year on the last Sunday of June Belarus celebrates the Youth Day. The Youth Week in our country kicked off on 21 June and will be running to 27 June," said Aleksandr Kadlubay.
According to him, today young people make up almost 30% of the world's population. "According to the National Statistics Committee, about 1.7 million young people live in Belarus, and this is almost one in five people in the country. Therefore, the interests of young people as the most active part of society are necessarily taken into account when determining national priorities in our country," the deputy minister said.
All government bodies and organizations of all forms of ownership, public associations and civil society are involved in the implementation of the state youth policy. “This has created a successful system of social, economic, political, institutional and other measures to support young citizens. Some Br10 million will be allocated to finance the Youth Policy sub-program of the Education and Youth Policy program for 2021-2025," Aleksandr Kadlubay noted.
